Biography

Dr. Faykus has worked in a variety of clinical areas including Cardiac Step-Down, CCU, Orthopedics, Cardiac Testing, I.V. Therapy, and Case Management. She has also worked as a Nurse Manager and 10 years in Staff Education. She has taught in a variety of health professions programs including Medical Receptionist, Phlebotomy, EMT, LPN, and RN programs as an adjunct instructor. For the past 13 years, Dr. Faykus has worked at West Liberty University in both the entry-level BSN program and the RN-BSN program. She has developed the RN-BSN online curriculum and is the RN-BSN Coordinator of that program. Dr. Faykus has also taught as adjunct professor in two Master's programs. Dr. Faykus's Doctoral work was with Readmission prevention strategies in a local hospital system. She has continued her work through student guided projects in related areas. In addition, she continues to hold a per diem position in Staff Education in a local hospital system.
