Biography

Dr. Yolanda Smith received her Doctor of Education degree (EdD) specializing in Curriculum and Instruction, and her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) – Nursing Education from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) from Rutgers – State University of New Jersey in Newark. Dr. Smith has experience as an online student having completed both graduate programs through distance education. Her nursing experience spans various areas to include long-term care, rehabilitation, care/case management, pain management, medical-surgical, and ambulatory same-day surgery. Dr. Smith has been in the field of education for over 19 years, seven of which has been devoted to nursing education where she has provided both classroom and clinical instruction. In addition to teaching, Dr. Smith has served in the Nurse Administrator role. She loves working in areas of health promotion. Her research interests center around strategies for enhancing student success paving the path to career success in nursing.
