Biography

Dr. Lauren Stehling is the Director of the Nurse Practitioner Program. She graduated from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She also holds a Masters in Nursing Education from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. She also received a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has over 16 years of experience working in nursing academia in various roles. Dr. Stehling also has a thriving transitional care geriatric practice. She works diligently to provide compassionate, thorough, and uninterrupted care to the aging population who are experiencing physical and/or cognitive decline. She has a wide variety of experience with underserved and high-risk populations and believes every individual has the right to quality health services. Dr. Stehling lives in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on a small family farm with her husband and teenage son and daughter. She enjoys spending family time, whether it is traveling, participating in the care/showing of their livestock or watching their children participate in a variety of community and school activities. She is an active volunteer for the Kendall County 4-H and the Comfort Athletic Booster Club. Dr. Stehling considers herself a life-long learner and is passionate about nursing education. She is committed to integrating evidence based research into clinical practice, disseminating knowledge to improve patient health outcomes and to engage in health care policy. She is proud to be a part of American Sentinel University and to facilitate quality online education for working healthcare professionals.
