Biography

Dr. Gerardo (Jerry) Flores has worked in acute care for over 30 years. He began his healthcare career as a nurse assistant at the age of 18. After just a couple of short years as an orderly in the operating room, Flores received on-the-job training as a surgery technologist. He later challenged and passed the exam for surgical technologist and began working as a Certified Surgical Technologist. After a couple of years as an OR tech, Jerry enrolled in nursing school and became a registered nurse. Becoming an RN helped propelled Flores to experience many great opportunities. While pursuing a BSN, Jerry worked as the director of critical care services and pulmonary care services. Next, Jerry obtained a BSN, then an MSN, and became an ACNO, later a CNO for an acute care hospital system. Currently, Flores holds a Doctorate Nursing Practice-Executive Leadership degree from American Sentinel University and works with a large healthcare system as a Division CNO. Dr. Flores provides executive leadership support, coaching and operational guidance to CEO’s, COO’s and CNO’s at 40 hospitals in 8 states. He has a passion and commitment to continuing education and supporting those who pursue higher education.
