Biography

Dr. Specht has been teaching Nursing since 1992. She has multiple publications in texts and journals. She has practice experience in Emergency, Critical Care, Trauma, Neurosurgery, Hospitalist Medicine, and Family Practice. Her research interests include computer anxiety, research self-efficacy and gerontology. She is an established podium presenter on Research, Geriatrics, Evidence-based practice, Trauma, Neurologic and Critical care topics. She serves as training center faculty member for Cooper Life Support Center as an instructor in ACLS, PALS, BLS. She is or has been certified in emergency nursing (CEN), emergency pediatric nursing (CPEN), Trauma Nursing, Critical Care (CCRN) and CCNS-Adult. She currently holds dual certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Family. Professionally, she served as the Past-President, the chair of the Trauma Committee and the current chair of the Research Committee for the state chapter of the Emergency Nurses. She is Past- President for the Southern Chapter of the New Jersey Emergency Nurses Association. She is an instructor for the Emergency Nurses Association for the Trauma Nursing Core Course and the Society of Trauma Nursing ATCN course. She is also faculty for the American College of Surgeon’s Stop the Bleed course. . She functions as a Peer Reviewer for the Journal of Emergency Nursing, She is a fellow of the Academy of Emergency Nurses Association.
