Biography

Dr. Ana Fernandez is an Assistant Professor at American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Post University.She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Excelsior College and began her nursing education as a Diploma nurse from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Dr. Fernandez’ clinical experience includes areas such as medical/surgical nursing, trauma, oncology and home health. Prior to joining American Sentinel University, Dr. Fernandez taught for a number of years in a prelicensure nursing program including hybrid, online and clinical settings. She has experience in the role of simulation coordinator in a prelicensure nursing program. Dr. Fernandez is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), a member of the National League for Nursing (NLN), Sigma Theta Tau (STTI), and the Florida Nurses Association (FNA). Interest outside of work include traveling the world, reading, and learning something new each day.
