Dr. Long has been a nurse for 25 years graduating with her ADN in 1995 from Goldfarb College of Nursing in St. Louis, MO. She then began her career as a staff nurse on a med/surg floor. After 3 years, she transferred to the ICU while beginning work on her BSN, again at Goldfarb and completed that in 2000. After 3 years in ICU, she became the Assistant Nurse Manager for an orthopedic surgery floor and again went back to school to complete her MSN/MBA with University of Phoenix Online. In 2005, she accepted the position of CV/ICU Nurse Manager for a hospital in Osage Beach MO (Lake of the Ozarks) where she worked for 4 ½ years. However, once again she found that it was time for a change and accepted a position as Director of a 42 bed Med/Surg unit at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Missouri and then moved to Blessing Hospital to open a new 20 bed Med/Surg Unit. Dr. Long fed her passion for teaching and developing nurses by becoming an online instructor in 2008. She has also been an online student for her MSN/MBA and DNP which she completed in 2016. On a personal note, Dr. Long is married and has 2 daughters ages 17 and 12. In her “free time” she enjoys being outdoors, reading and working out.
