Biography

Dr. Fleming has served in academic, corporate, and hospital leadership roles. These roles have included Vice President of Medical Management for a disease management provider, Sr. Director of Clinical Client Services for a medical informatics company, Director of Quality Management for an acute care hospital, Associate Dean for a university, and as a Nurse Scientist for a large health system. Dr. Fleming's research interests include mentoring, compassion fatigue, and equine therapy. She has mentored staff level nurses through the completion of quality improvement, research, and evidence-based practice projects. Many of these mentees have gone on to advance their nursing education and have been promoted into leadership positions. Dr. Fleming is also a testifying expert in the field of Quality Improvement and Informatics. She has obtained advanced certification as a certified professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ), a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and board certification as an Advanced Nurse Executive (NEA-BC). She earned a joint Master's degree in Nursing Informatics from Rutgers and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She earned her Doctorate in Biomedical Informatics from Rutgers University. Dr. Fleming is most proud of serving as Founder and President of Alliance for Hope, a 501 (c) 3 charity that offers equine facilitated learning to veterans, with and without a diagnosis of PTSD. Dr. Fleming is excited to share her knowledge and experience with the students at American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Post University.
