Biography

Dr. Beardsley has more than three decades of experience in nursing practice, administration, research, education and military service. Her clinical practice background includes trauma nursing. Dr. Beardsley has extensive experience in nursing education both in traditional and distance education and has consulted on the design, development and implementation of several exemplary online MSN programs. Her expertise includes curriculum design and program development from planning to implementation. She holds several advanced credentials related to distance education. Dr. Beardsley has received several honors including the Frank Dilley Award for Outstanding Dissertation, Who's Who Among American Teachers, Illinois League for Nursing Award for Outstanding Faculty Research and Outstanding Illinois Nurse Educator. She presents frequently and has published articles in a variety of academic journals. Dr. Beardsley is the past president of Illinois Coalition for Nursing Resources, past president elect of Sigma Theta Tau, an active member of Kappa Delta Pi and past vice president of Nurse Educators of Illinois. Dr. Beardsley completed a post-doctoral fellowship in academic leadership and is an educational advisor on the United States Army Educational Advisory Board to the Secretary of the Army. Dr. Beardsley serves as a team leader of academic program evaluation for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
