Biography

For the past 20 years, Dr. Earl has served as dean, chair, director and faculty in nursing programs at several community colleges and universities, including Weber State University, Jackson Community College, Montcalm Community College and Lansing Community College Prior to American Sentinel, Dr. Earl was dean of nursing at West Coast University. Dr. Earl is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Excellence in Leadership award from the Utah Hospital Association, following on her leadership as chairwoman for Utah nursing education programs and her appointment to the Veteran's Board by the governor of Utah. She has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Leadership Connection Board in San Bernardino, California, and the nominating committee of the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. In 2005, she was selected to lead a group of physicians, social workers, nurses and allied health professionals to South Africa to develop an interdisciplinary approach to palliative and end-of-life care for HIV/AIDS patients. Dr. Earl is an avid researcher with special interests in epidemiology, health disparities, nurse migration, partnerships with nursing education and practice, international health and relationships, palliative and end-of-life care, public policy, rural health, infectious disease, building healthy nations, veterans' affairs and innovation. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in epidemiology in the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University supported by the National Institute for Health. Dr. Earl has been an editorial reviewer for various nursing journals and an invited presenter on special nursing topics in countries around the world. Dr. Earl holds a doctorate in public administration from Western Michigan University, an MSN from Grand Valley State University and a BSN from the University of Michigan.
