Biography

Ms. Faith has taught courses in geography, earth science and oceanography online and onsite for more than 15 years. For many years she used geographic applications extensively in the workplace. At Arizona State University Ms. Faith researched issues related to land development and used Arc/GIS as an analytical and display tool. Previously, Ms. Faith maintained and built turn-by-turn navigational databases in Arizona and New Mexico incorporating air photos, quad sheets, plats and GPS files into a GIS. Her experience gave her insight into the real-world possibilities and uses of a science education and allows her to bring those examples into the classroom to make the subject matter more relevant. Ms. Faith has a background in student assessment and course development at all levels of education. She has served as a governing board member in a K-8 school district and has worked to develop consistency in competencies from kindergarten through the college level. Ms. Faith has taught in a variety of classroom structures: traditional classes, short courses at military institutions and accelerated courses for transfer students.
