Biography

Dr. Gordon has a background in both business and health care and has worked in higher education since 1997, teaching as an adjunct professor and assistant professor at Nova Southeastern University, Barry University, St. Thomas University and Capella University. She has taught nursing, case management, health policy and other nursing courses to nursing students, and human resources and organizational behavior courses in the schools of business, adult education, and business and technology at her previous institutions. Dr. Gordon's nursing career began in 1974, and she has since worked in many areas, including hemodialysis, intensive care, coronary care and the emergency room. For nine years, she was a research nurse audit manager for a major city hospital district, conducting Medicare, Medicaid and insurance medial audit reviews. Dr. Gordon was the vice president of operations for a logistics supply company for 15 years. She is active in the nursing profession and has served in many voluntary capacities-as a co-chair for many international conferences and as a reviewer for numerous academic journals, including the American Employment Practices Journal, Employee Responsibilities and Rights Journal and Journal of American Academy of Business. She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American College of Health Care Executives, the American Nurses Association and the American Association of Medical Auditors, Women Healthcare Executive Network, Society of Human resource Managers and the American Society of Training and Development. Dr. Gordon's work has appeared in many conference proceedings and academic journals, including the Journal of International Management Studies, the American Journal of Health Sciences, the Journal of International Business and Economics, the International Conference on Knowledge, Culture and Change in Organizations, the Association of Global Management Studies annual meeting and the IEEE Electro Information Technology International Conference.
