Biography

Dr. Popoola's career as a holistic nurse has spanned nearly three decades in the United States and abroad. Her early preparation in nursing was as a diploma nurse and she has worked with various HMO companies and as a director of nursing and health care programs. She has taught in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs at Excelsior College, Heald College, Herzing University and Georgia Southern University, among other colleges. Dr. Popoola has published several books, including Holistic and Complementary Therapies and Lose Weight and Save Money: The Smart Alphabet and Holistic Approach and is working on her third book, The Praxis Curriculum. As a consultant, Dr. Popoola focuses on the areas of saving money, managing diabetes, stress, hypertension, obesity, foot and nail problems and holistic and caring approaches. She has researched holistic approaches to managing chronic health problems and understanding the nursing-health care classification systems. In 2005, Dr. Popoola assisted in the implementation of policy statements and a certification program on foot and nail care nursing.
