Biography

Dr Grissom has 15 years of clinical nursing experience in the areas of OR, adult ICU, coronary care, and emergency nursing. She served as an ACLS instructor for 5 years and has instructed and mentored new nurses in the emergency department. She also has experience as a traveling nurse in the areas of ICU and ER. Dr Grissom has served as Vice President and President of the South MS Medical Alliance for the AMA and also held a state wide position as membership Chair for the MS. State Medical Alliance for the AMA. Dr Grissom received her PhD in Nursing Administration and Education from William Carey University in 2016. She received her MSN in Nursing Education in 2011 from Kaplan University and her BSN in 1989 from the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Grissom has experience in development of undergraduate and graduate curriculum. She has experience in teaching and course development for nursing research and evidence based practice. Dr Grissom has chaired curriculum oversight committees for faculty governance and she currently serves on several committees pertaining to assessment and evaluation of curriculum, ethics, and faculty governance. She has also served in a recruitment capacity and made presentations to community college students to encourage them to continue with their nursing educations. She is currently serving as a delegate for the Phi Rho chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.
